_MG_2086B&WAnnika discovered her love for music at the age of 4 when she began taking classical piano and violin lessons with the Royal Conservatory of Music Program.  In addition to classical piano and violin training, she has extensive experience in musical theatre and has performed as an actress in over 20 major musical theatre productions.  These experiences have enabled her to quickly develop a rapport with audiences.  She has won numerous vocal competitions such as the Calgary International Blues Festival Competition, placed 11th on Season 5 of Canadian Idol, won the Calgary Stampede Talent Search in 2012, and most recently was a feature performer at the Calgary Stampede’s Grandstand Show!

As a singer/songwriter/pianist, Annika has performed internationally on cruise ships (Celebrity Cruise Line, Azamara Club Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, Pearl Seas Cruises)  and at various venues in Canada and the United States.  On ships, Annika’s talents as a pianist which she features in her shows distinguish her from many other vocalists.  In addition to playing and singing with a full orchestra, she also often performs as a solo pianist/vocalist showcasing acoustic arrangements of long time favourite hits in addition to her own, original music.

Based in Calgary, AB, Annika is currently promoting her EP album, The Stories which was released in July and is available on iTunes.  She will be performing on the NCL SUN ship in the month of January and begin her school tour of Alberta in February. “It’s so nice (and quite refreshing) to watch a young talented performer command the stage as she did.  Her performance was what you’d expect from a seasoned pro with an “old soul”, and yet came across as fresh, new, and exciting to hear and watch.  Her stories and setups to her songs were from the heart, honest, and came across as truly genuine, connecting with the audience in a very personal, conversational way, and not like traditional ‘patter’ at all.”
